Using Data Driven Learning for Training Success

Training and Learning, they walk side by side with life. The time we are spending right now is the training period of the time that is to come. We are learning something at every second of every hour. All the problems right now, they can be tackled by training. It could be about our lives and our businesses.

If we take the example of a business, they mostly rely on the training when they have something new to deal with. There are multiple types of training such as product and service training, technical skills training, soft skills training, and many more. Deciding what type of training is needed is conditioned on the type of problem we have. Just as, different problems have different solutions, the identical situation is with business-related difficulties.

If we keep the results and outcomes in mind, we can shortlist the effective training techniques. The best one has been data-driven learning. This type of training is all about data and has been the most successful by now.

What is Data-Driven Learning?

One thing is for sure that learning is very crucial for the development of any community. We are witnessing new technologies every day, and big data is one of them. As the world gets this technology named Big Data, there is now a very different way of achieving success. This approach of big data is called data-driven learning.

When we build tools, practices, abilities, and most importantly, a culture based on the data, it is called data-drivenness. As competition is getting tougher day by day, businesses are looking forward to data-driven learning to train their employees for future correspondences.

Why Use Big Data in Learning?

Big data is an effective way to utilize data for the betterment of an organization. It helps us to find out how things are done and how can we make them better. Companies have anticipated the fact that the future will belong to the data, so they are designing their training courses to be data-driven.

Data-Driven Learning Strategy for Training

Establishing a learning strategy that revolves around data is the most important thing. It is the data strategy that lets us know the answers, to the questions we need, for making better business decisions. To establish a data-driven learning strategy, there are 7 steps to follow. Let's discuss those steps here. To learn it more deeply, you can join our training program.

  • List the Questions You want to Answers

At first, you are going to list down the question that the sponsors want you to answer. These questions could be like how much are we going to spend? How much learning would it be? Is all the process managed properly, and is it cost-efficient? What are the main objectives of this learning process? And many more questions like that. This is the entry-level, and you will have to satisfy them with your answers.

  • Determine What Data You Have

In this step, we will have to identify all the data we have that can help us in answering the questions. It is advised to make a data inventory in this step. It will also let you know about the data you have and that you are missing. Identify all the data sources and what are the filters to obtain useful data.

  • Design the Dashboard and Reports

Make the design ready to implement for the dashboard and reports. As these will help you a lot in answering all of the questions we talked about in step 1. It is advised to create a drawing or a wireframe for the dashboard. We will need these specifications and drawings for implementation later.

  • Define the Data Architecture

There would be times when you will need multiple sources to collect data. It is best to establish a data warehouse to integrate all the data from different sources in a convenient place. Any data visualization software can be used to link the warehouse with other systems. Data science training classes are the best way to learn and be expert in it.

  • Develop and Implement Mechanism to Collect Data

In this step, we go forward to extract all the data from the source. It can include all the practices, procedures, and tools that you need to move the data from everyone personal systems to the information system. We should always go for the data that is easiest to collect and keep moving forward likewise.

  • Develop and Implement Taxonomy

In this step, we will have to tag the data as per the user. It will be the process of slicing the data. We will do divide data by the segmentation process. Segments can be topic, format, method of distribution, etc. This is the taxonomy you need to explore the data in a better way.

  • Develop and Implement Reports and Dashboard

It is time to update the design right from step 3. Pic the best of your data to put on the dashboard. Avoid putting things in a detailed manner as it would look cluttery. On your dashboard, there should not be items more than 8 at a time. Arrange it in a way that anyone can find an item within 5 seconds.

From now on, steps from 2 to 7 will be repeating until and unless you do not get the answer to all the questions.

At the start of data exploration, you may find some unusual trends of data, but it will all be clear you start using the data. When the process starts and data goes through the tools, it all starts making sense.

Data-driven learning is the best way to understand how effective eLearning can be. Well, if you try data-driven learning for your training or the training of your employees, your goals will be achieved as it increases the success ratio. You can try the strategy step by step, as mentioned above. If you have any questions regarding data-driven learning, feel free to contact our experts.
