Everything You Need to Know about Azure Solutions Architect Certification

Microsoft Azure is the world's fastest growing cloud infrastructure available today. Operating in more than 15 regions across the globe, it is rapidly adopting the variety of different operating systems and utilizing platforms that ensure it stays relevant to maximum industries and most people. As far as the variety of certificates that come under Azure solutions is concerned, the Architect Certification has its own glory. There are two areas of Azure Architect Certification i.e. Azure Solutions Architect Certification: Technologies (AZ-300) and Azure Solutions Architect Certification: Design (AZ-301). In this article, we will discuss each of these in detail.

Azure Solutions Architect Certification: Technologies (AZ-300)

In this Azure certification, you will study a variety of storage services and accounts, and you will also learn the basic concepts of the data replication system. You will also be introduced to Storage Explorer and will learn how to use it conveniently to use Azure data storage. You will also be taught types f storages and how to manage and work with custom disks. This course is a comprehensive guide of how to manage and use Azure resources, including configuration and deployment of virtual networks, virtual machines, Azure AD, and storage accounts. It also including managing and working with hybrid identities. You will also study how to manage cloud resources in Azure with the help of group or user accounts and how to allow access to Azure AD groups, users, and services using RBAC (Role-Based Access Control).

In this course, you will learn about Azure blob storage and how Azure saves unstructured data in the cloud. You will also learn about blob containers and blobs. Also, this course also includes an introduction to Queue and Table storage as data storage choice for structured data. Here you will also learn about creating and deploying VMs (Virtual Machines) in Microsoft Azure, with the help of the Azure portal called PowerShell and additional ARM templates. You will also learn about deploying customized Linux Virtual Machines and customized images. You will also be able to configure the storage and networking elements of virtual machines. It is critical that you know how to deploy virtual machine for unplanned and planned events and therefore, in this course, you will learn how to make use of availability set to make sure that virtual machines are up and running during downtime.

You will study the capabilities and monitoring tools offered by Azure such as Activity Log and Azure Alerts. In addition to logs and alerts, you will also be taught about Log Analytics and how to use it effectively for data analytics and to better understand your system's health and status. Another exciting thing that you will learn during this course is the usage of Azure Resource Manager to work with resource groups, resources, and ARM templates. This is the first course in Azure Solutions Architect series, and therefore, you will find a lot of introductory content in it to prepare you for the rest of the courses in the curriculum. You will be provided with lessons containing tricks and tips for using and working with the Azure portal. In addition to this, you will also receive an introduction to basic tools that you will use in Azure environment like Resource Explorer and Cloud Shell.

Azure Solutions Architect Certification: Design (AZ-301)

In this course, you will study how to manage identity and security with Azure. You will also be introduced to the variety of SaaS services that are offered by Azure that is used for integrating into older Azure solutions. You will learn to contrast and compare the different database options that are available in Azure. After taking this course, you will be able to identify different data streaming choices available to manage large scale data and to identify long term data saving options. In this course you will study how to authorize a complicated deployment using Azure Building Blocks feature, deploying ARM template in a resource group, and integrating a Logic App or API using API Management feature.

You will study how to describe IP and DNS strategies for VNETs in Azure. You will able to compare connectivity choices for hybrid connectivity and ad-hoc, design a hybrid cloud connectivity platform between on-premise storage and cloud, and use load balancers to distribute network load with the help of load balancers.

Objectives of This Course:

After you are done with this course material, you will able to:

  • Integrate a business's existing systems with external service providers using Azure AD B2C or B2B.
  • Use Key Vault to secure various application secrets.
  • You will be able to identify a variety of APIs present in Cognitive Services.
  • Utilize Azure Files option for SMB process.
  • Design resource groups and include resources in that group.
  • Determine when you should use more advanced services of Azure AD like Privileged Identity Management, MFA, and Managed Service Identity.
  • Explain the relation between Azure Bot Services and Bot Framework.
  • Design and manage an availability set for one or multiple virtual machines.
  • Design multi-region deployment or App Service Plan for high scalability and performance.
  • Integrate Logic App or API by efficiently using API management service.
  • Describe and define a variety of patterns that are pulled from Cloud Design Patterns.
  • Identify when do you need to use Language Understanding (LUIS), Face API, or Speech API services.
