It’s a problem we all have: Not. Enough. Time.
Whether you’re behind on emails or you just can’t get to that pile of expense reports building up on your desk, there never seems to be enough minutes in the day to fully get caught up.
Well, today is your lucky day.
We’ve compiled a few quick time management tips to help you get organized and get things done in a timely manner.
You’re welcome!
1. Find balance.
First, be kind to yourself.
Don’t let the idea of a giant workload discourage you from taking action.
Even if you feel like you’re drowning in projects and meetings, take the necessary steps to get organized now, before it gets worse!
2. Organize your time.
Start everyday by sorting through your tasks and continue this throughout the day.
If something will take more than 30 minutes to complete, schedule it on your calendar and prioritize the items there.
Otherwise, try to handle small tasks right away.
3. Learn to let go.
If you are going through a stack of paper or items, start out with three piles: shred, store, and trash.
Go through them quickly and don’t second guess your opinion.
If you initially put it in the trash, it probably should stay there.
4. Delegate.
Don’t waste your time doing things that somebody else can do, especially if they can do them better than you.
Save your time for those things which you are uniquely qualified to do.
In addition to easing up your workload, delegation helps your staff to learn new things.
